Fungible
Fungible
A unit of measure is fungible if any given amount of it can be replaced by any other amount of equal measure without affecting preferences. For example, money is a fungible unit for measuring wealth, whereas Rembrandt paintings are not. In decision analysis, a numeraire for measuring preferences must be stated in a fungible unit.
