Flipping

Flipping

In editing a relevance diagram, Flipping is the operation that changes the direction of an arrow between any two nodes. Flipping an arrow should not be confused with the similarly named operation of arrow reversal, which can only be applied to arrows between two chance nodes and involves applying Bayes’ theorem. Flipping an arrow between two nodes invalidates any probability distributions associated with these nodes.
