Evaluating a Relevance Diagram
Evaluating a relevance diagram involves deducing probabilistic and decision theoretic implications from a well-formed (partial) relevance diagram. When the diagram is a well-formed (partial) decision relevance diagram, evaluating it maintains decision equivalence and can yield an optimal recommendation for action. Most relevance diagram evaluation procedures involve sequences of three elementary operations: arrow addition, arrow reversal, and node removal. These evaluation procedures can be particularly efficient when they recognise deterministic nodes, asymmetries and coalescence.
