Risk-aversion coefficient

Risk-aversion coefficient

The risk-aversion coefficient is the only parameter in the exponential utility functional form. As its name implies, the risk-aversion coefficient measures the degree to which the decision-maker is averse to taking risks; the larger the coefficient, the more risk aversion is represented by the corresponding utility function.
