Relevant

Relevant

In a decision basis, a variable, V, is said to be relevant to an uncertain variable, U, if U depends on V, that is, if {U | E} ≠ {U | V, E}, where E is the background state of information. Note that relevance is a transitive relationship: if V is relevant to U, then U is relevant to V.
