Strategy Consulting for Finance and Investment Appraisal

For the Infrastructure Development Finance Company (IDFC), an Indian financial institution, I developed and implemented a new investment appraisal process and portfolio management system. This required leading the organisation through substantial cultural change, in particular with regard to risk attitude. Over 2000–8 IDFC’s balance sheet has grown tenfold to $6.8 bn.

I assisted the private equity arm of one of the world’s largest companies with an overhaul of its investment decision-making process, training and coaching its investment professionals in the principles, tools and best practices of decision quality.

For a pensions advisory company, I built an actuarial model linked to a database of pension commitments, to assess clients’ exposure.
